Square Rangers made their debut in the new local Saturday 11-a-side
league against near neighbours Waling Spartak. The match was very
close with both team’s defences doing a pretty good job on
their opponents strike force by restricting them to few chances
in front of goal. The midfield provided a good contest between players
familiar with each other’s style of play, and on balance it
was an even contest.
After conceding two goals either side of the break Square showed
a lot of character to exert a lot of pressure on the Watling goal
late in the game, which unfortunately for our boys only brought
one goal.
This was a good start for Rangers with many positives to come out
of a very satisfying performance.
Highlight of the match, a mature performance on the left side of
midfield by Faheem Parkar.
