Square Rangers last League
match of the season brought an entertaining match that was closely
fought but a game where the defenders of both teams had the edge
over their attacking counterparts.
Rangers started the match with only ten players due to injury and
other commitments with only the introduction of Ashley mid way through
the half bringing the team up to eleven. Both sides showed much
endeavour and attacking purpose but their finishing didn’t
really match the quality of their build-up play. Rangers looked
a better shape once Joe was brought into centre midfield alongside
Josh, with Jake and Faheem operating the wide areas in midfield.
Rangers created some good chances throughout the game with the best
falling to Ashley and Matt.
It was good to see Ryan, after a long lay-off due to breaking his
hand, looking back to his best by producing good handling throughout
the match. Notable performances too by Afsar, who read the game
excellently from centre half, also Josh who anchored the midfield
and supplied some excellent passes to our front players, Tom’s
tackling was also very effective.
Highlight of the match:
A great header from Stewart
Mitchelmore clearing the ball inside his own half.
Players of the match:
Ryan and Afsar
