Square’s first trip out in the new season took them to Mid
Beds Churches team, playing on an excellent pitch on a bright morning.
Square made an impressive start, moving the ball well around the
pitch, and goals from Chris Matthews, Alex, and Josh gave a comfortable
lead at half time.
This was despite MBC twice breaking through on goal, and forcing
keeper Tom Foster into action.
The 2nd half proved to be a close affair, with the MBC keeper on
fine form, but eventually Tom Foster was rewarded for his efforts,
to increase the Square lead.
The main target after half time was a clean sheet, and credit goes
to Chris Matthews in goal, and excellent defending from all the
team, especially Joe, Chris Jones, and Josh
Awarding Man of the Match was an impossible choice, as well deserved
recognition was earned by the whole team.
