Harvest Church 0 Square
FC 4
Saturday 3rd March 2007
Harvest Church are a better side than their league position would
suggest having beaten West Street and HFC Rangers in recent weeks.
However Square FC proved too good on the day, continuing their good
form of late, and deservedly took the three points.
On a pitch that did not seem suited to good football, both sides
produced an excellent passing, attacking match but it was Square
who were stronger, creating more goal scoring chances and who led
2-0 at half time with goals from Matthew and Darren.
The second half was played in much the same manner with Square always
having the edge and eventually extended their lead to 4-0 by the
end of the game. However credit where credit is due, Harvest Church
gave us a game.
Goalscorers:
Darren Custance 3, Matthew
Kimani 1
Man of the Match:
Tom Mitchelmore –
has formed a formidable partnership with Ben but he adds to the
midfield as well. Harvest Church could not contain him. Ably supported
by all of the squad.
Summary:
Square proved to be the better, stronger side on the day with yet
another superb team display. In the past, in the pursuit of excellence,
I have been critical of some of the defending. The boys have responded
and the defence has been the cornerstone of recent performances.
All credit to Andy, Ben and Tom.
