West Street 2 Square FC 6
Saturday 14th April 2007
Square produced another good, controlled performance to defeat West
Street, mainly through a dominant first half performance. The hard
pitch made good passing football difficult for both sides but, to
their credit, it was an entertaining, sporting game.
Although Square started slowly, they soon moved into their normal
attacking, passing game and this saw them move into a 5-1 half time
lead with goals from Mark (2), Matthew (2) and Tom.
Square were perhaps not so dominant in the second half but still
ran out worthy 6-2 winners with Darren (eventually) getting on the
score sheet with his 45th goal of the season.
Goalscorers:
Mark Chalkley 2, Matthew
Kimani 2, Darren Custance 1, Tom Mitchelmore 1
Man of the Match:
Matthew Kimani –
West Street were unable to handle his pace and ability. I thought
Tom and Mark ran him close.
Summary:
Having already won the league, Square could be forgiven for easing
off and not needing to play to their full potential. This has not
been the case as the first half showed. With the game won at half
time, Square perhaps switched off a little but were never really
in trouble of being pulled back.
