Square FC 2 Hightown 2
Saturday 21st October
2006
Square FC and league leaders Hightown fought out an extremely, entertaining
draw.
Although Square FC had the majority of the play and had the majority
of chances, as the home side should, Hightown were constantly a
threat and took the lead. Square battled back and deservedly cancelled
out Hightown’s lead with a Jack Firth goal.
The second half was much the same as the first and Hightown again
took the lead again, but Square again equalised with a second half
strike from Darren Custance. Square FC pushed forward for a winner
but were denied by the Hightown goalkeeper.
Goalscorers:
Darren Custance (1) Jack
Firth (1)
Man of the Match:
Ben Keble – an
outstanding, quality defensive display.
Summary:
On scoring chances Square FC should have just edged the game, although
Hightown were always a threat. However, if you were a neutral, I
suppose that a draw was a fair result. Both sides deserve credit
for a competitive hard-fought match and both sides deserve credit
for approaching the game in the correct manner.
