Cornerstone Alpha 1 Square
FC 4
Saturday 28th October
2006
Square FC completed a fairly comfortable away victory against a
young Cornerstone side.
Square started the game at a high tempo and were the stronger side
throughout but, again, the opposition should be credited for their
efforts. Even though Square were reduced to 5 players for part of
the first half, when Tom picked up an injury, they were still in
control and had established a 2-0 lead by half time with goals from
Otto and Matthew.
The second half saw Andy Kight playing central midfield with Tom
taking over between the posts and Otto replaced by Jack due to another
injury. Despite this Square still managed to extend their lead to
4-0 in the second half, Matthew completing his hat trick. To their
credit Cornerstone pulled back a consolation goal towards the end.
Goalscorers:
Matthew Kimani (3) Otto
Da-lbanga (1)
Man of the Match:
Matthew Kimani –
Cornerstone were unable to contain him.
Summary:
Square FC were always in control of the game and ran out worthy
winners in the end, the highlight being a hat trick from Matthew
Kimani. Despite the reshuffling of the side during the game , I
thought that this was the best display of the season, so far ! We
have started a bit slowly, due to the lack of games, but are beginning
to click into gear now.
