Square players were disappointed with the result after contesting this game throughout. This game was always going to be close, after previous league meetings producing a 0-0 draw and 1-0 win for Square. In addition, some confusing refereeing decisions seemed to affect the whole team’s concentration and confidence during this game.

It was difficult to make headway against the strong defending, but Square had chances throughout the game, including Alex hitting both the post and cross bar.
It took an uncharacteristic defensive error to allow Hightown to take a first half lead. Square responded well, and Hightown were grateful for the half time break to arrive.

A further two goals for Hightown in the second half came from defensive openings due to Square’s pressure at the other end of the pitch.

Matt made the most impact in front of goal, pulling one back, and then denied a second goal by a good save.
