City Church 1 Square FC
5
Saturday 10th November
2007
Following a minutes silence
for Remembrance, the first league meeting of these two teams this
season was underway.
It was a closely fought start to the game, as City’s defensive
organisation ensured Square struggled to create clear chances in
an even first half.
Square got the breakthrough when Freddie fired in a shot, and Tom
was perfectly placed to put away the rebound.
Matt had an influential game for Square and a clever pass released
Freddie again, who created another chance for Tom to finish.
Freddie worked tirelessly for Square, tracking back to help out
his defenders, as City worked for a breakthrough.
Ben produced a strong performance in goal, blocking the close range
City shots, and his excellent distribution pushed Square forward
repeatedly.
After the break, Ben took the strikers role, and soon created his
own chance to score his first league goal.
Later Matt’s excellent work, and powerful shot was deflected
by Ben, who claimed his second goal, and he then completed his hat-trick
with a cool finish against the City keeper.
City’s efforts were rewarded when a mix up at a corner allowed
a simple tap in for them, in a score line that did not represent
the competitive game.
Man of the Match
Freddie.
