Square United 2 Square
Rangers 0
Monday 28th April 2008
In the clash of the Square sides, it was United who proved the stronger
and ran out worthy winners.
The first half saw a fairly even game, with United just edging it
in chances. Rangers made life extremely difficult for United but
Andy’s side were unable to create any clear cut openings and
it was United who opened the scoring through Darren.
In the second half, United took more control of the game and deservedly
scored a second goal from Jamie to secure the victory. Although
no further goals were forthcoming, United were never really threatened.
Goalscorers:
Darren Custance 1, Jamie
Copperwheat 1
Man of the Match:
Jamie Copperwheat –
combined well with Darren but Rangers were unable to handle his
pace.
Summary:
Rangers made it difficult for United but they were unable to break
through the United defence. With Darren and Jamie in the side, goals
are always there. This proved to be the case and Rangers were unable
to match United in this department.
This has again been an excellent season with United unbeaten and
winning the league by 12 points. It is not easy being the “best
side” in the league, you have to go on the pitch each week
knowing that all the other sides want to be the one to beat you.
This has not happened for two years in the league and is a credit
to the player’s determination and commitment.
