Hightown Elite 4 Square
Rangers 3
Saturday 1st December
2007
A great team performance
as we were down to 6 players. Alex Whitt played a full game on the
pitch for the first time this season with his place in goal being
taken by Sam Stickings.
We started very briskly with a low driven cross by Alex Whitt which
was turned in by Tom Foster. Back came Hightown with fine attacking
play, only resolute defending by Alex Marsh and Joshua Fennessey
kept them at bay.
Finally, Hightown scored to make it 1-1 then quickly follwed up
with two more.
The first half ended 3-1.
The second half led to a dominating period for 'Rangers' with wave
upon wave of good movement with pace and power.
Sam Stickings collected the ball in his area then released the attack
with an accurate throw, a good move lead to James Halling cooly
slotting home his first game of the season.
Our confidence boosted, we attacked again and a hand ball in the
box lead to a penalty. Alex Whitt stepped up the take the spot kick
but it just missed the post.
Another attack gave James Halling his second goal to level the scorers
3-3.
With the match winding down, Hightown took a corner and a thunderous
strike whistled past Sam Stickings in goal.
A fine performance without the result we needed, roll on Square
United!
